TWO'S
|
HAPPENINGS...
In the 2's: The children are talking about love and pets-dogs, cats and fish. It's been a rainy week so Mrs. Lynch has also been sharing music and sharing her guitar. In the 3's: The children are celebrating love and Valentine's Day. They're singing lots of love songs, making gifts for their loved ones. They're experimenting with the color pink and hosting sing-a-longs with their families. In the 4's: The 4's are also preparing for Thanksgiving. Each class is preparing stuffing and a dessert for our traditional feast! All fours and Pre-K children share a turkey lunch with lots of trimmings, many of which are prepared by them. The children all sit together to share a meal and gratefulness together. The children are also busy creating treats for their home celebrations as well. In the Pre-K: Playing with manipulatives is becoming increasingly creative and complex. The children are proud of their creations and ask us to document their vehicles and transformers each day. Pre-K just finished a study of the Impressionist, Claude Monet. They've created impressions of his lily pad pond and landscapes in a variety of ways, by repeating the resist technique of painting, practicing the dot-dash technique of painting, printing with flowers one day and sweeping paint with credit cards the next. Incidentally, they also explored creating the horizon in their paintings. |
